Paloma

Pink grapefruit, lime, agave and soda sit over Pentire's distilled coastal botanicals in this one, which is about as close to a real paloma as a can gets. The grapefruit stays bitter rather than sweetened into submission, and the botanical base gives it a herbal, faintly saline undertone that plain grapefruit soda cannot manage. Pentire canned it for the outdoors, and that is genuinely where it makes the most sense. It is a 200ml can, zero alcohol, sold in fours, twelves or twenty fours, and it needs no mixer, no ice and no glass if you are halfway up a coast path. If you are at home, pour it over ice with a grapefruit wedge and a pinch of salt on the rim. It works with seafood and with anything off a grill.
