Bitter Italian orange, espresso and tart cherry make an unusual set of flavours for a ready-to-drink spritz, and that is what makes this the most interesting bottle Monday puts out. The idea is a gin and vermouth aperitivo, so grapefruit and orange peel run across the top while coffee, black cherry and smoked vanilla sit underneath. The aroma is orange peel, espresso and rosemary, which tells you most of what you need before the first sip. Distilled botanical extracts and carbonated Australian spring water form the base, with gin, lemon, rosemary, black cherry and espresso extracts doing the flavour work and stevia the sweetening. Sugar free, alcohol free and gluten free, with no artificial additives. The packaging came from a partnership with Australian textiles studio Bonnie and Neil. Sold in fours, eights and 24s. Serve it in a wine glass over ice with an orange slice.
