Salt is the unusual part. Ghia spritzes its bitter aperitif with fresh lime and adds a dash of sea salt, and the salt does the same job it does on a margarita rim, pulling the citrus forward and rounding the bitter edge. The brand compares it to a swim in the Mediterranean, which is a fair description of how it drinks. The base is the same one behind the whole Le Spritz line, built on white grape juice concentrate, yuzu, gentian root, lemon balm, elderflower, rhubarb root and rosemary, with no added sugar, no caffeine and nothing artificial. Gluten free, vegan, 8.4 ounce cans. Take it straight from the fridge, or pour it over ice with a lime wheel. This is the one to open alongside chips, olives, or anything salty.
